Neurodiversity is a different way of thinking and processing the world around us and I believe that with it comes many unique strengths. However, most of the world's systems and institutions were not designed with the neurodiverse brain in mind. This means there are often challenges that come with being neurodiverse and trying to navigate these systems. I have always been passionate about making the world a more accessible place and wanted to create a hive where people could go for non-judgmental support and to learn strategies in an empowering environment. Whether you are new to your journey of understanding neurodiversity or you’re looking to add to your existing toolkit of skills, The Breehive is here to support you.

My mission is to provide personalised educational consulting services to students, families and professionals. I believe that every person has unique strengths and challenges and my goal is to reduce barriers to education and enrich personal strengths so that every individual can achieve to their full potential.
With my own lived experience with ADHD and autism, over 12 years of experience in education and completed tertiary studies in psychology, my passion is to support people of all ages with a wide variety of disabilities. I believe that neurodiversity should be celebrated for the unique perspectives and ways of thinking that it provides whilst acknowledging the challenges that can come with it.
Helping individuals to develop the skills to overcome these challenges and empowering parents/caregivers, educators and others in their support network to walk alongside neurodiverse students on their journey is what The Breehive is all about.

I have earned Bachelor’s degrees in Education and Business, a Graduate Diploma in Psychology and an Honours degree in Psychological Science. My honours thesis studied barriers and supportive factors impacting school non-attendance for autistic students with intellectual disabilities. I have 12 years of experience supporting people of all ages with a wide range of abilities including students with neurodiversity, cognitive disabilities, sensory disabilities (e.g., hearing impairment), physical disabilities, and twice-exceptional students. I have also been formally trained in Functional Behaviour Analysis and am experienced in managing challenging behaviours, such as those arising from trauma responses and students in out-of-home care. Aside from my formal education and experience in the field, I have always had a special interest in neurodiversity and learning disabilities and am always looking to expand my knowledge and understanding of how to best support individuals.

Yes, The Breehive offers call out services and in person sessions at the clinic on request. Sometimes it can be important to observe a student in their usual environment or meet where they are most comfortable, such as in their home, a public library, or even a park. I can also arrange to meet with and/or observe students at their place of education (with the organisation’s agreement where required, such as at school).
